About DSU

Dayananda Sagar University

Dayananda Sagar Institutions founded in the 60s by one such visionary, late Sri Dayananda Sagar committed to take knowledge to the people, transforms today’s students into responsible citizens and professional leaders of tomorrow. Dayananda Sagar University created by an Act of the Karnataka State in 2014, built on this adorable legacy and inspired by its own milestones, meeting the needs of quality higher education in this part of the world.

Dayananda Sagar University offers courses in Engineering, Computer Applications, Sciences, Arts and Management in the Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D levels. Supporting the academic activities are the Centers of Excellence in ICT, Health Care, Energy and Life Science, among other fast evolving fields of study.

Inspired by Innovators - Research, Innovation and Incubation (spread over 25,000 sft of industry quality labs) form the core of DSU. So it isn’t surprising that DSU has taken the next logical step: Laying the foundation to transform the entrepreneurial dream of every young Indian and global citizen into a reality. Enabling this transformation is the active support of industry leaders, industry bodies and a dedicated 4 lakh square feet modern ready-to-move-in infrastructure!.

About School of Engineering - The curriculum focuses on knowledge based course work integrated with skill development as a part of training. It equally helps in inculcating the scientific temper necessary for the Lifelong learning process. At the Under Graduate level, a student goes through the foundation courses in Science, Humanities and Engineering. Each department ensures that the courses cover both Core & Electives as required. Provision for open elective help the students to acquire inter-disciplinary knowledge or specialize significantly in an area outside the parent discipline. At the Post Graduate level, students are exposed to knowledge beyond their specialization and help in broadening their horizons of thought process. The School of Engineering follows two compulsory Semesters in a year with an option of a supplementary III Semester as a makeup semester. The I Semester begins from 1st August, II Semester from 1st December, and Supplementary Semester from 1st of April.

Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence

Number of seats = 60

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning, reasoning and self-correction. Particular applications of AI include expert systems, speech recognition and machine vision. Machine Learning (ML) is a subset of Artificial Intelligence. ML is the science of designing and applying algorithms that are able to learn things from past cases. The ultimate goal of AI and ML is in its ability to produce systems that are used regularly in industry, education, and elsewhere. The workshop focuses on the understanding basic concepts of AI, its techniques and algorithms.

 Workshop with complete hands-on experience
 Experts from industry with more than 10 years of experience
 Machine learning algorithms using python

 To Introduction to the Artificial Intelligence techniques and algorithms
 Hands on experimentation of the AI algorithms and techniques using python

 Familiarity with machine learning algorithms using Python
 Hands-on designing of small project on their own

Session Details

1. Introduction : Definition of AI and ML, Industrial applications of AI and ML, different stages of ML, Challenges that need to be addressed during building scalable AI/ML systems.
